Tunnels: Renowned as one of Isabela’s premier snorkeling spots, the Tunnels boast shallow, tranquil, and crystal-clear waters, forming a marine sanctuary. While the entrance to the site is relatively shallow, strong waves can occasionally pose access challenges. The optimal time to visit Los Túneles is from January to May.

Wetlands: Situated just outside Puerto Villamil, the Wetlands of Isabela Island comprise lagoons, swamps, and mangroves, providing habitat for various unique bird species such as common stilts, whimbrels, white-cheeked pintails, and gallinules. Accessible via footpaths winding through the swamps.
Flamingo Lake: Located west of Puerto Villamil, this area hosts several salt and brackish lagoons teeming with a diverse array of coastal and seabirds, including the largest concentration of flamingos in the Galapagos.
Arnaldo Tupiza Breeding Center: Also known as the Interpretation Center, this facility near Puerto Villamil aims to protect and enhance the populations of the five sub-species of Giant Tortoise found on the island. Threatened by introduced animals, the center nurtures tortoise eggs in hatcheries and monitors adult tortoises in supervised corrals.
Tintoreras: These islets, situated a short distance from Puerto Villamil, boast a rich variety of wildlife. Turquoise waters are home to white-tipped reef sharks, Galapagos penguins, marine turtles, and sea lions. One beach, surrounded by mangroves, serves as a crucial nesting site for marine iguanas.

Bartolome Island: Named in honor of Sir Bartholomew Sulivan of the British Navy, this island covers an area of ​​1.2 km² with a peak altitude of 114 meters. It showcases some of the archipelago’s most stunning landscapes, comprising an extinct volcano and a range of vibrant volcanic formations. The lava cactus of the Galapagos thrive in the new lava fields here. The iconic Pinnacle, a significant landmark of the archipelago, offers opportunities for diving and snorkeling with penguins, sea lions, white-tip reef sharks, and other tropical marine life. Bartolomé serves as a mating and nesting site for green turtles seasonally, and its bay is ideal for swimming. The twin bays are divided by a narrow isthmus.

North Seymour Island: Named after the English noble Lord Hugh Seymour, this island covers an area of ​​1.9 km² with a peak altitude of 28 meters. Covered in dense vegetation, the island features a 2 km trail for visitors, offering exploration of its rocky coast. The island is home to a significant population of blue-footed boobies and swallow-tailed gulls. Numerous land iguanas, introduced from Baltra Island, inhabit the island, contributing to the repopulation efforts. Visitors can also observe frigates and sea lions with their offspring.
Bachas Beach: This beach hosts characteristic Galapagos species such as flamingos and Sally Lightfoot crabs, along with migratory and aquatic birds. It serves as a primary nesting site for sea turtles on Santa Cruz Island.

Tijeretas Hill: Follow a trail crafted from cut stone, meandering through a forest to reach observation points offering captivating views of the coastal landscape and native flora and fauna. This trail concludes at a tranquil cove, perfect for water sports and nature observation.
Mann Beach: With its gentle slope and soft white sand, Mann Beach is an ideal spot for sunbathing and swimming. Offering masterful landscapes, its main draw is its picturesque beach, which is often bustling with visitors on weekends. While rocky, it provides opportunities to observe sea lions and is a beautiful location for swimming and sunbathing.
Punta Carola: This beach spans approximately 300 meters and is surrounded by dry forest vegetation. A large colony of sea lions resides on the beach amidst the vegetation, while marine iguanas inhabit the rocks. Surfing can be enjoyed at this site.

Sleeping Lion: Comprising two vertical walls with a central channel, offering a haven for sharks and other fish species like barracudas and rainbow fish. The vibrantly colored walls likely afford sightings of diverse marine life, including octopi and various sharks such as hammerheads, white-fin reef sharks, and freshwater turtle sharks. Also present are turtles, rays, and sea lions.
Brujo Hill: Featuring a coral sand beach and diverse flora and fauna species, Brujo Hill is an eroded tuff cone with parts composed of lava. Formerly used for salt extraction, it’s now a spot for observing marine birds and offers panoramic views of León Dormido and San Cristobal’s south. Halophyte species thrive in salt-rich soils here.
Sardina Bay: Renowned for fishing various species like sardines, liza, octopus, lobster, and shrimp. With its white sand dunes and crystal-clear waters, Sardina Bay is ideal for snorkeling, boasting a significant presence of sea turtles, rays, and sea lions.
Punta Pitt: The sole location in the Galapagos Islands where three species of boobies and two species of frigates nest in proximity. Unique geography and ample food prevent competition among them. Blue-footed boobies nest inland or rarely on cliffs, while red-footed boobies nest on bushes, and masked boobies along the cliffs. Sea lions add to the attraction at the bay’s landing point.
Rosa Blanca Bay: A small bay northeast of San Cristóbal Island with several small beaches and a large beach in the center, surrounded by dunes and crystal-clear waters. Ideal for fishing wahoo, palometa, ojón, liza, and cod, it’s also home to sharks, rays, and sea turtles, perfect for snorkeling.
